Guest guest
Namah Shivayah, I'm doing a lot better, thanks to everyone's good advice, some adjustments in sadhana, and Guruji's grace. Yogaman, I'm so enjoying the advanced yoga thing! Once I make a little bit more progress with the spinal breathing I'd love to teach it in my class. It reminds me of the the Ma-Om meditation. The postings would make a great book. Now I have another question... was anyone on this list around Amma in the "old days?" I mean pre-US tour, or early in the touring years. I have been reading "On the Road to Freedom," and love imagining Amma imagining things to come. Does anyone have any good old stories? Especially about Kali Bhava and how She used to dance. Please share!! Ah me, this is a bumpy road.... love, Brianna Search - Find what you’re looking for faster http://search.
Guest guest
Namaste: You asked if anyone had seen Amma on her beginning tour in US and before US. I saw Amma her first visit to Seattle, Washington. The gathering was very small. I also did her first retreat in Wa at the San Juan Islands. That was glorious indeed!! I think only 100 people showed for Devi B. and there was only one small table with items for sale. I received my mantra and got to sit on stage all evening with only two other people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Totally blissful. Also, I had a remarkable experience. When I checked in for the retreat, I asked one of Ammas devotees how was I to arrange for eating the meals since I was camping out and not staying in the small dorms that were at the retreat. The devotee looked at me in amazement and told me that Amma had spoken to her this morning about me!!! I said "What? What are you talking about". She told me that Amma had told her that some of her children that had been with her for many many eons of years would be camping out at the retreat and they were to have the same privilages as the people in the dorms. I said to the devotee..."I dont know what you are talking about...you sent us a flyer saying we could either camp out or stay in the dorm and so I made arrangements to camp out on my own" the devotee told me that it was not on their flyer as part of the retreat arrangements!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, I about fainted, because I would swear to the ends of the earth that I read that and I was all excited about camping out and that was one of the reasons I couldnt wait to be with Amma at the retreat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Because, I was a smoker back then and I didnt want any harrassement from all the reformed smokers and goody goodies judgements that I had experienced in the past with dorm rooms!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I couldnt believe that somehow Amma changed a flyer right before my eyes to make sure I would attend her glorious event and when I received my mantra she kept looking at me and saying More???More??? To this day, she still jokes with me about More, More whenever I see her hahahahahaahhaaha. There is more of course ahahahahah. I have to go. Guest guest
I met Amma for the first time in 1987 in Chennai (that's in South India) She was staying at my sister's classmates house (there was no MA center in Chennai then) and Darshan was at the house in the morning and at some temple/school in different parts of the city in the evening. The day we went to see Amma there were only about 30 people to see her ! My father invited Amma to our house and She came the next day, did Puja at our house and stayed for ~ 30 minutes ! The good old days ? :-) -Girish On Sun, 7 Mar 2004, Brianna Mosteller wrote: > Namah Shivayah, > > I'm doing a lot better, thanks to everyone's good > advice, some adjustments in sadhana, and Guruji's > grace. > > Yogaman, I'm so enjoying the advanced yoga thing! Guest guest
What a wonderful memory! Thank you so much for sharing this, I love to think of Amma back then. How fortunate to have Her do a puja in your house, too. I could sure use one around here! Maybe I'll just imagine it. Ooh, in that case, I better imagine that I clean the house first! Lol... Sigh, I love touching Mother's feet. Sometimes I wish I could just rest my head on Her feet for ever and ever. One time I saw a woman at the LA program massaging Her feet for quite a long time. I wonder how I get that job? Do you know if Amma still comes to devotees' houses now and then? I often wonder what She's up to during the retreats and public programs when She's not with us physically. --- Girish <girishv wrote: > I met Amma for the first time in 1987 in Chennai > (that's in South India) > She was staying at my sister's classmates house > (there was no MA center in Chennai then) > and Darshan was at the house in the morning and at > some temple/school in different parts of > the city in the evening. > The day we went to see Amma there were only about 30 > people to see her ! > > My father invited Amma to our house and She came the > next day, did Puja > at our house and stayed for ~ 30 minutes ! > > The good old days ? :-) > > -Girish > > On Sun, 7 Mar 2004, Brianna Mosteller wrote: > > > Namah Shivayah, > > > > I'm doing a lot better, thanks to everyone's good > > advice, some adjustments in sadhana, and Guruji's > > grace. > > > > Yogaman, I'm so enjoying the advanced yoga thing! > Once > > I make a little bit more progress with the spinal > > breathing I'd love to teach it in my class.
