Guest guest
Namah shivaya, I just found out that I will be having surgery about a week and a half prior to the IAM course that I plan to take in NYC in March. My doctor tells me it'll be 4-5 days before I can go back to regular activity, and probably two weeks before I can do any intensive kinds of physical exercise. When I received the registration form for the course, it said to bring a yoga mat and wear loose clothes that are appropriate for doing exercises. Without revealing anything about the technique (which I know is confidential), can anyone who has taken the IAM course give me some idea of the level of physical activity involved with the IAM training? Are there accommodations during the training for people who may have physical limitations? Any such information would be helpful. Thanks, Iswari
Guest guest
Dear Iswari, I took the IAM training this past weekend. The excercises I found to be very gentle. However, there was a disabled person in our class, and she was told just to visualize herself doing the exercises which were physically impossible for her. I believe the key to this wonderful technique is asking for Amma's grace, not one's physical prowess. Guest guest
Hi Iswari, There is also another 'tangible' alternative for you to do. You can e-mail iam with your question, and they can asnwer better. If you read Ammachi group mails like me (not as e-mail but go to the web), then the e-mail written above will get truncated, so I am writing below the 3 components of the e-mail address: iam (followed by '@') ammachi (followed by '.') org Jai Ma!
