It should be clean and orderly. Cooking should be started only after the morning bath and with the repetition of the mantra. We should behold the sweet form of our beloved Guru or deity in the flames. Imagine that we are cooking the food as an offering for Him. Visualize that He receives the essence of food before it is served on the table. Before retiring at night, the kitchen should be swept clean. All the dishes should be cleaned and set aside to drain.
