Bowing out with the Christian Version

My thanks to yogaman and Amarthya for their

incisive comments. As Amarthya pointed out,

it's night, not dusk, when the truly heinous

seems to emerge. However, in the spirit of

understanding what yogaman and others have

said, I offer the beautiful Christian hymn,

"Abide with Me--'Tis Eventide." I often

understand things better in the Christian

context, and I can understand it better as

it is expressed in the words of this hymn.

I think it's human nature to fear the coming

of the darkness, whatever context it is placed

within.

With love,

Jyotsna

Abide with Me--'Tis Eventide

Abide with me; 'tis eventide.

The day is past and gone;

The shadows of the evening fall;

The night is coming on.

Within my heart a welcome guest,

Within my home abide.

O Savior, stay this night with me;

Behold, 'tis eventide.

O Savior, stay this night with me;

Behold, 'tis eventide.

Abide with me; 'tis eventide,

And lone will be the night

If I cannot commune with thee,

Nor find in thee my light.

The darkness of the world, I fear,

Would in my home abide.

O Savior, stay this night with me;

Behold, 'tis eventide.

O Savior, stay this night with me;

Behold, 'tis eventide.

Abide with me; 'tis eventide.

Thy walk today with me

Has made my heart within me burn,

As I communed with thee.

Thy earnest words have filled my soul

And kept me near thy side.

O Savior, stay this night with me;

Behold, 'tis eventide.

O Savior, stay this night with me;

Behold, 'tis eventide.

Namah Shivaya Jyotsna,

There's a similar bhajan in Amma's song too- "Pakalantiyil ettum neram"-

literally means - " The evening has come, My Mother hasnt returned, I am scared

to be alone..."
