Guest guest
Namah Shivaya. I had the opportunity to do the IAM sessions this weekend at Atlanta. It is an intense and stilling experience. I sure am glad to be able to learn it under Swami Dayamrita Chaitanya's guidance. As a friend of mine put it "Amma's grace is so totally behind this initiative that it is impossible to miss it." Swami gave a very delightful answer to the question of confidentiality about this technique... In light of the many (unfortunately heated and distinctly partisan) e-mails, I still thought I will risk sending this one just because I know some folks will love the answer. The bad news is that I don't recollect the answer fully (I am bad at remembering details), but I will try! He started his answer by asking us if we had seen the latest Star Wars movie. This statement was so incongrous with the setting that I laughed out in anticipation of what was to follow, and lost some details... Anyway, he asked us about how the movie plot developed (this went for about a minute or so), and asked when the protagonist (Jedi?) went to battle, what did his master tell him? It seems his master told him "Do not leave the ship" Yet our man had to leave the ship (Swami's comment: He disobeyed his master), learned of his mother's death, and in a fit of fury, killed all the citizens. Swami's take on this: The master knew of his prowess, and feared for its potential misuse, hence the precautionary advice. The point is: The IAM is a powerful technique. It can be handled / wielded only by skilled practioners, not by novices... If novices / unauthorized persons try to impart the knowledge, it can end up harming not only the recipient, but very likely the giver also. Concluding words: The confidentiality is for your own protection, not Amma's or the M.A. Center's. Jai Ma!
Guest guest
This made me smile. I remember when Dayamrita came for the Manhattan one-day retreat last year, he spoke almost entirely in movie metaphors (Star Wars, first and foremost)! I can't remember if he mentioned it or someone else did, but apparently, he went to film school before becoming a renunciate! Love, Iswari =) Ammachi, "manoj_menon" <ammasmon@s...> wrote: > He started his answer by asking us if we had seen the latest Star > Wars movie.
