....or Chennai, if you prefer. BTW the Chief Minister

of Tamil Nadu, Jayalalitha, is also affectionately

called "Amma"! Don't know if she's gone for darshan,

like the C.M. of Kerala :)

`Overcome hatred'

By Our Staff Reporter

CHENNAI, JAN. 19. Mata Amritanandamayi today stressed

on the importance of overcoming hatred.

Hatred was the main reason for increasing terrorism in

the world, she said, while speaking at the second

anniversary celebrations of Brahmasthanam Temple here.

Nurturing hatred towards others was like swallowing

poison and expecting the enemy to die, she said.

Lalitha sahasranama archana, bhajans and a satsang

were the main events held during the celebrations.

In the satsang, she spoke about the importance of

practising awareness in each and every action. She

also advocated that everyone should develop the art of

listening, as many problems in daily life could be

solved if one learnt to listen properly.

Scores of residents had lined up near the Avichi

School on Arcot Road, where Mata Amritanandamayi gave

darshan. She will give darshan on Tuesday also. A

photo exhibition of the activities of the Math is also

on at Kamakshi Hall adjacent to the school.
