Guest guest
Dear Ones, Some of you may have heard of or seen rose petal rosaries. These are rosaries whose beads are made from rose petals. Sometimes the rose petal are pressed into a rose shaped mold so that the beads look like tiny rose flowers. I just started doing beading. Of course, when I go to the MA Center in San Ramon, I think how wonderful it will be to make malas and I imagin what materials I will use. Recently I saw information on the internet regarding how to make rose petal beads. Some of you who grow roses might want to try making some rose petal beads. Maybe there are people all around who could make the malas and we could sell them to devotees to support Amma's charities. Here is one link that tells one way to do it: http://www.astro.wisc.edu/~mukluk/rose.html Aikya
Guest guest
Namah Shivaya, Aikya, Have you made rose petal beads yourself? If you have, was the texture of the beads smooth or rough? I tried making some with rose petals from a puja. The beads ended up looking kind of wrinkly like rudraksha beads. It's a lot of work. I made Catholic-style rosaries with them. Have you seen the wrist malas they sell near the Amma dolls at San Ramon when Amma is in town? They are made from Devi Bhava petals. They smell wonderful and feel so good. Guest guest
Dear Fe, I have never made rose petal beads. I saw various kinds of rose petal rosaries when I was a child. It depends on how you make them how they turn out. One way to make them always results in black beads, for instance. I remember them as being rough like rudrakshas, except for the kind that were shaped like tiny roses. They amazed me when I was little. What a wonderful idea to make them from Devi Bhava petals.
