This is sincere from the empirical realm. An Advaita Vedantist would question who is apologizing to whom? Sankaracharya had a very nice way to resolve these types of apparent contradictions.. He divided consciousness by acknowledging that things need to be addressed for "practical purposes" A Swami once clarified this to me by saying when you need a gardener you want a gardener not a policemen. But if we are all the same who is fighting who? this whole forum may be a one man band?
