Guest guest
Namah Shivaya, Thank you, Omana, for sharing that information about IAM. As many of us on this list try to decide over the next few days and weeks whether or not to take the course, perhaps others can share similar details within their comfort allowances. Mostly, I am interested in whether it is complicated, or will be difficult to remember as time passes. Also whether there are any noticable effects for anyone yet. My own hesitation is that I don't know that I'll keep up the daily commitment. Would anyone care to speak to that issue? If I have doubts about my commitment, should I wait until the next round of classes? Guest guest
Nomah Shivaya, Achintya Thank you for the report about IAM. Can personally relate to your praying to Amma for discipline. Recently my early morning sadhana has been haphazard eg oversleeping. Who invented the wretched snooze button? It is heartening that other Amma devotees pray for discipline. In the past I had trepidations about praying for things like discipline and calmness under fire. Now I contend that this is merely the intelligent option. Amma you are discipline Itself so give me discipline. A baby boy can go to his Mother for anything. Barring None!!!! Strength is necessary so Divine Mother/Father grant me discipline. Is a devotee weak in asking for discipline? Who cares what society thinks. Try it and see should be my attitude. I would have loved to know who you others were there! I agree with what everyone has said about it. I also feel that it is very accessible and relatively simple to do, once you've had a few days practice. I am slowly getting it, although I still need to refer to the outline. Without saying anything specific about it, I think it is by far easier to do than just sitting still and trying to quiet the mind! I think it is a lovely balance between simplicity and profundity, that both is quieting for the mind/body as well as keeps the mind/body engaged and present. I also felt a difference in my energy during and afterwards. So far, I have been able to get up earlier the last two days to do my practice, with Amma's grace! I pray to her before I go to bed to help me wake up, as I have a tough time with getting up early (I'm aiming for between 5 and 5:45am, starting my practice at 6:15 to give me a little leeway). Thank you, Amma, for helping me! I also had the concern about being about to do it everyday. But it is enjoyable and not difficult, so I feel more comfortable and hopeful about that now. I just pray that Amma helps me to keep up the discipline, and I figure that it's good that I make this committment now to help me be more disciplined with my spiritual practice in general. The main thing that I think Amma wants is for each of us to make our best effort. If I mess up and don't practice it one day, then I'll do my best to just get up again the next day and get back on track. I'll just keep at it. So I third (or fourth!) the recommendations for the course, and I'm encouraging my husband to take it at the next course. I'm looking forward to us being able to do it together! Blessings, Achintya Aum Amriteswarayai Namaha! Ammachi/ Ammachi Hotjobs: Enter the "Signing Bonus" Sweepstakes
Guest guest
Namah Shivaya George, In all of the books about Amma, She is quoted as saying we must long for God. If we cannot shed tears, we should pray for tears. I bet if we can pray for longing, we can pray for discipline or anything else, as you suggest! Anumati Is a devotee weak in asking for discipline?
