Guest guest
The five senses that we have: Vision, Hearing, Taste, Touch and Smell. Inviting comments/discussions/experiences on the sense of smell in sadhana. It seems to be one of the least talked about(and secret?) aspects in achieving concentration and for progress on the spiritual path. How about starting with essential oils from Amritapuri? What are these and how are they used? What is that wonderful smell as one approaches Amma during darshan? Please share your experiences, so all unenlightened atoms may benefit ota
Guest guest
Namah Shivaya, I have experienced scents as one of the most intimate contacts from my beloved Amma. She wakes me up with the heavenly fragrance of rose (but rose unlike any earthly rose that I have ever smelled). I feel Her shakti as the scent courses through my nervous system. A friend once told me that she was talking to an artist, and devotee of Amma's, who was contemplating making jewelry out of cedar as an offering to Amma. She had not started the project yet as she was not sure if it was the right form for her sadhana and art to take. She was thinking of taking the question to Amma for clarification. As she verbalized her thoughts both women were overwhelmed with the scent of cedar. An affirmation that was more profound than if Amma had spoken words to either of them. I look forward to others experiences of divine scents. Jai Ma!
