Namah Shivaya.

Was last night¹s full moon in Karthika (Amma¹s birthstar)?

Is there a deity associated with each of the chakras?

With love and appreciation to each one of you on this list.

It is humbling to realize how much Amma loves each and every one of us.

May we all grow ever more faithful, by Her grace.

Dearest Premarupa,

In my limited understanding, I believe that there are bija seeds

associated with each chakra, and thus deities. I'm not sure which are

which, but I will do a Google and see if I can find anything of use.

I found a couple of websites and all seem to agree, so I am linking

this one which is the pretties to my eyes. ;)

http://www.sanatansociety.org/yoga_and_meditation/seven_chakras.htm

Again I found this from Google, so I am not sure of the rest of the

site, etc.

The deities are Dakini, Shakini, Hakini etc(in the LS the reference

to Hakini Roopa Dharini)- these are amsa-roopinies(part) of the

Supreme Devi. In addition to these deities, there is a presiding

deity in each of the chakra eg Ganesa at the Mooladhara, Sadasiva at

the ajna etc. And each chakra has its own mantra eg Vam for the

Mooladhara. A good book for the chakras is Chakras by Harish Johari.

Namah Shivaya dear ym (better watch out, that could turn into "yum yum", a

character in the Gilbert and Sullivan musical The Mikado--what a silly mood

this child must be in).

Having seen performances of "The Mikado" several

times, as well as the other Gilbert & Sullivan

productions ("HMS Pinafore", "Pirates of Penzance",

"Gondoliers", "Iolanthe") when I was a lad (to quote a

song from Pinafore), it's nice to have another G&S fan

on this list!

BTW, one of my neighbors owns two cats named KoKo and

YumYum :)
