Jai Ma!

Satsang Amma's words Mother and Innocence

Children, now you are like little babies. You play and laugh with Mother,

enjoying Her company. But you do not understand what Mother is doing or who

Mother really is. You look only at the external Mother. Hardly anyone is

interested in the Supreme Consciousness that lies behind; there is no urgency to

know the Self within. You don’t really want the real Mother.

When a baby cries, the mother puts a pacifier in the baby’s mouth, and the baby

sucks on it. What a hungry baby really needs is milk. But here, babies feel

content with sucking milkless pacifiers. The external world is like a pacifier.

You children feel satisfied with the laughter and the play. You amuse yourselves

with the objects of the senses. Mother comes to where you children are playing

and puts food in your mouths. Because you are so engrossed in your play, you

don’t appreciate the value of the food that Mother gives you. You won’t advance

if you just keep wandering around visiting temples and holy places.

My children, you should cultivate the spirit of innocence. Your innocence and

purity of heart will save you. Anything is possible with the faith and trust of

a child.

Wow! what words She has used to describe us!

If She had thrown dynamite at us, that should have been less hurting.

We usually see the "loving, compassionate side" of Amma.

With these words we get to see the how Amma creates an "evaluation

report" - it sounds more like a clarion call to rise higher up in

consciousness. Applicable equally well to me as well as you.

Just some thoughts that struck me while i read this.

I agree... I feel like she's calling my bluff! But

she's right in my case, of course. Like I said a few

days ago, "Mother, when will I realize that You are

everything?"

Namah Shivaya dear Listers,

I too was very struck by the serious tone of this message.

Not unusual when Amma is talking to the renunciates, but more unusual to

appear before such a wide readership. It certainly brings back the feelings

of urgency that the paper distributed in RI evoked.

Especially:

>> My children, you should cultivate the spirit of innocence. Your innocence and

>> purity of heart will save you. Anything is possible with the faith and trust

>> of a child.

This sounds very serous! Like, it¹s practically impossible to save you, but

maybe if you can achieve innocence and purity of heart.....

Thanks for posting this, Ravi.

I too feel very confronted. Like a child who just caught caught by Mom with

my hand in the cookie jar. How does this adult with all these well developed

negativities become as innocent as a child whose negativities lie dormant?

How is it possible without Amma's grace? But She tells us we must do the

work to receive Her grace:

"Dedication is the most essential aspect. The more dedicated you are, the

more open you remain. The more open you are, the more love you experience.

The more love you have, the more grace you experience."

May we all grow more dedicated to the path of Self-inquiry. May we be more

loving today than we were yesterday.

Bowing to that Path and Her Love.
