Amma is certainly trying to eliminate dowry, i.e. the dowry-free mass marriage ceremony during Amritavarsham. BTW, it's not just Hindu marriages.. I learned on this program that Muslims get bankrupted by dowry too! Its a stereotype (by western media)that dowry system exists amomg Hindus alone. Even casteism exists very well among Indian Muslims, Christians and Sikhs. Regards Avinash.
