Guest guest
Dear Brothers and Sisters, I am writng a few posts to share with those on the list my experiences with Amma this summer. By Amma's Grace, I attended the programs in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa and Naperville, Ill.. First, though I want to especially thank group members Rick Archer and Premarupa for helping me in planning my trip to see Amma this summer. Rick's wife Irene wrote to me, and that was a big help in selecting where to stay in Mt. Pleasant. Premarupa, besides advising me on my trip plans, had enough confidence in me, in her wise mid-western way , to assigned me a seva duty in Naperville, when I really thought I was not physically fit enough to handle any duty. That led to very memorable and event filled evening and night, that I will write about in a later post. And, I owe a very special thanks to sister Jyotsna who took the chance to meet me in June, and shared some of her Amma experiences with me, before I saw Amma this summer. Satsang with Jyotsna was a meaingful and inspiring experience for me, as she has seen Amma physically many more times than I have. Amma's grace and help has certainly flowed through this cyber-satsang group to help me, and I want to say thank you to all of you. Also, I want to thank all of those devotees who worked to make those programs I attended a success; and to the many that helped me in so many little and big ways. The programs were beautiful and memorable, each in its own unique way . In addition, I want to publicly thank those non-devotees, like staff at the hotels in Mt. Pleasant and Naperville, and members of the Naperville police dept, who respectfully helped me and Amma's devotees and thus, the programs. I will write more about this in another post. Usually we , two devotees of Amma (Ása and myself) living in Iceland, see Amma once a year in London, on Her European tour. This summer we made the trip to see Amma on Her U.S. tour for a very specific reason. Ása has a heart condition and cardiologists have been trying to remedy her problem through medication, but it has not been successful. They are now recommending a complicated invasive procedure that is performed in the hospital, that is truly frightening to go through. So, the purpose of our trip was for Ása to get in the question line and ask Amma what should be done to alleviate or remedy her heart problem. Ása's husband, Keli, who is not a devotee, and her 12 yr. old granddaughter Sóley, who has had darshan before and believes in Amma, also made the trip with us. I also got in the question line on our first morning with Amma in Iowa. My next post will be about the questions I asked Amma, and the lessons Her replies to my questions taught, and are teaching me. In Amma's love, Sara J.
