And are there any Guru's (MY RESPONSE IN CAPITALS, I AM NOT YELLING OK:-)-) ABSOLUTELY AMMA IS THE GREATEST GURU POSSIBLE- SAT GURU AND GOD INCARNATE COMBINED IN ONE(I SHOULD KNOW COZ I HAVE SEVERAL GURUS:-)) YOU COULD NOT GET A BETTER DEAL. in the U.S. and if so where are they....What is the example of a CHECK OUT WWW.SRIVIDYA.ORG. THIS IS ONE GENUINE GURU(BTW I DONT HAVE ANY AFFILIATION WITH THEM)- THIS GURU CAN BESTOW MANTRA DIKSHA COZ HE HAS ATTAINED SIDDHI IN THE MANTRA(MEANING THAT HE CAN TALK OR SEE WITH THE DEITY OF THE MANTRA CONSCIOUSLY AND THIS IS NO HALLUCINATION:-)) AND HE CAN TRANFSER SOME OF THAT POWER TO YOU. THAT WAS JUST TO GIVE YOU AN EXAMPLE OF A GURU; there are also plently of pseudo-gurus in the US and India. >Acharya (teacher) Guru and the a Guru that gives diksha....Would >this be Amma...? Someone please be gracious enough to expaned a >students mind.... Thank you... GETTING A MANTRA FROM AMMA IS THE BEST DEAL; OF COURSE ONE SHOULD INVEST HEAVILY TO REAP THE BENEFITS OF THE MANTRA; to see quick results, one should practice japa for several hours, same place, same time and do japa at all places regardless of whatever you are doing (this can be made subconscious habit with a little bit or practice). Mantra must be combined with breath and feeling and of course visualization(read Amma's instructions on japa); when correctly done, it is very energizing and one feels no fatigue even after several hours of japa. warm regards yogaman
Guest guest
Namaste, Robin! --- Robin Wilson <lilymoonjewel wrote: > someone could go more into detail about the > different gurus and there purposes and if someone > could tell me is Amma a (Spiritual) Sat Guru..? "Guru" means "dispeller of darkness," which can be found in every single living entity in the universe. You are Guru, I am Guru. Guru is that which guides us towards the light of understanding. A Satguru is one who is the embodiment of absolute Truth, divine love and universal consciousness. In Amma's words; "The master creates a suitable atmosphere for awakening the inner guru that lies dormant in the disciple." A Satguru will lead the willing disciple back to God's loving arms, and the disciple will realize that in truth, she has been there all along. And > are there any Guru's in the U.S. and if so where are > they....What is the example of a Acharya (teacher) > Guru and the a Guru that gives diksha....Would this > be Amma...? But if you surrender to a Self-realized master, time and space will become a non-issue, as the master is with the disciple always, regardless of physical closeness. Also, remember the old saying that when the student is ready, the master will appear. Simply ask God to guide the Guru to you! The longing for liberation that will awaken with your yearning for a guide will ultimately lead you to that. And yes, Amma is most undeniably a Sat Guru. A recomendation on familiarizing yourself with Amma's teachings; the book "Lead Us To The Light, a collection of Amma's teachings" is VERY good. It is available from Mothersbooks.org and some of the passages in it directly adress the questions you were asking. Amma states that Her teaching is her life, and Her message is love. May we all live by Her example. Guest guest
Namah Shivaya Robin, A genuine SatGuru is very very rare. A Satguru is one whose ego has dissolved in God, one who has irrevocably merged in God, and through whom the Inner Self , God acts , speaks, moves .A Satguru sees the Lord everywhere, and treats all beings as manifestations of the Divine. A Satguru is God in manifestation . A Satguru will not have even a trace of ego, or body conciousness. He/she will be an ocean of purity, humility , love and wisdom . Through such a being verily God Himself acts- as there is no trace of individuality left , there is only an apparent 'mask' of an ego , the indwelling Lord shines forth . All that a Satguru does comes straight from the Divine. When a Satguru talks, it is God talking. When a Satguru touches you, you contact The Divine. All that you do for a Satguru you do to God. The Satguru is competely permeated by, dissolved in, merged in God. A self realized being whose ego has completely dissolved in the Indwelling Self, verily is a living temple of God. Such a being will not have a trace of ego, anger or lust in Him/Her. Such a being is verily God walking the earth . Every guru is not a SatGuru. There may be teachers of various kinds, who may have learnt the scriptures, or learnt a particular Yoga etc. There may be some teachers who can impart mantras and some who may even have siddhis or powers - but they need not be realized . A completely realized being is very very rare - Sri Krishna says "bahunaam janmanaam ante jnanavaan maam prapadyate Vaasudeva sarvamiti sa mahatma sudurlabham'. "After many births does a Jnani know Me Seeing all this as God- such a Mahatma is VERY HARD TO FIND'. Thus you see a genuine Mahatma or a Satguru is a very very rare phenomeneon. And among those there are still fewer who have been aware of the Inner Self right from birth.- these beings will be the Avatars - the rarest of the rare. What Amma is, is for you to find out with your inner heart . Amma is one of the greatest beings ever to walk the face of the earth. A Satguru of such a magnitude who is reaching out to the masses in such an incredible fashion- hugging and personally elevating millions, one by one by one, moving among us in such a simple sweet manner and yet ever established in the Self, constantly aware of Her inner Self right from birth- Amma was born smiling- Ammas says She saw the world as a projection of conciousness- a mere play and so She smiled - a new born baby seeing the world as a projection of conciousness! - a very very very rare being indeed! - embracing millions in a never ending flow of Love, taking a leper into Her arms, licking his wounds and curing him, hugging with love even those who came to kill Her, selflessly wearing Her body out for the sake of others, never resting, constantly merged in God conciousness, manifesting Her identity with the Divine Mother and Sri Krishna at will, singing ecstatic bhajans that transpire the listeners to great heights, effortlessly initiating thousands into mantras and spiritually transforming their lives- on and on and on- wow! If this isnt a Satguru , I dont know what is. In my humble opinion, as Tim Conway says in his book, Amma is perhaps the greatest phenomenon in the history of religion . She is God walking the earth and I dont think you will find any other being of Her magnitude today on earth.
