Guest guest
Om Namah Shivaya, Amma's teachings regarding food: http://www.amritapuri.org/spiritual/jnana/food_1.htm I post this at the risk of being labelled a glutton and whatever else! (Sometimes, I think I should get a handle too, like faintglow But, Im sure it will be useful to a lot of people here. The following paragraph caught my attention: In the beginning stages sâdhaks should observe such rules closely. Do not eat too much delicious food. As far as possible, avoid chilies and oil. Semen will increase if fat accumulates in the body. If the desire for tasty food increases, the passions in the body will increase. Diluted milk and fruit can be taken moderately. It is better not to take food in the morning. At night, only a little food should be taken. Half of the stomach should be for food, a quarter of the stomach for water, and the remaining portion for the movement of air. A little sweet can be taken. Salt should be decreased. It is better not to eat at night. If you feel hungry, eat some fruit. Sleeping immediately after eating will create problems.
