Guest guest
Dear Manoj, Omenka and everyone else, Bharata( India) is a scared land because it has , at least in some way or the other, held on to sanatana dharma through the ages. The very concept that man could realise God , and that life itself can become a worship of the One Supreme originated there in that sacred land. The one culture that never invaded another country, that absorbed everyone else within its fold, including invaders who pillaged and destroyed, deserves our respect if not our worship. You can find evidences of God intoxication all over India. Every village has a saint , every town a hallowed temple. You have the purifying ganges, you have Arunacahala, you have the himalayan caves, and kasi and vrindavan and Kanchi and Dakshineswar and the bodhi tree and sarnath .and the Jyotirlingas and Badrinath and a million saints... and AMRITAPURI!!! India looks dirty from the outside but nevertheless is golden on the inside... Bha stands for 'Bhagavan" and 'rata" means delight- the land that delights in Bhagavan, God is Bharata- my india. The whole world owes a debt of gratitude to humble, gentle, meek India. It is the Mother of culture and civilization. We should weep that it has fallen now, and nevertheless strive that it comes up again. The Lord incarnates there time and again and saints and sages are produced there because even today, behind the chaos, lies an atmosphere that is conducive to sadhana, lies a population that will fall at your feet if you wear an ochre robe, lies a culture that saw God everywhere and hence worshipped even trees and plants and animals and mountains. Have you heard the bhajan 'Vande Veda Mataram"?: "Vande veda Mataram Vande Deha Mataram Vande desha mataram Vande Vishwa Mataram Jaya Jaya Bharata Mata Jaya Jaya Mata Amritanandamayi." Yogananda Paramahamsa's last words were his poem "My India": In that He says : "Where Ganges, woods,Himalayan caves and men dream God, I am hallowed-my body touched that sod!" Vande Mataram. --- Omenka Supriti Nnadi <oomenka wrote: > Reply to (I think) Manoj on India humbly needing more > saints rather than being the fertile soil which > encourages their appearance...thanks for a wonderful > belly laugh this morning, I needed that, and point > well taken. Unfortuntley 'Vande mataram' could not become India's national anthem, supposed to hurt minorites. It was replaced by different one "Jana gana mana" which doesn't sound relavent, that has word 'Sindhu'in it. Sindh is no more part of India, its in pakistan. Big political mess in eternal minority appeasing India. regards Avinash. Tax Center - File online, calculators, forms, and more http://tax.
