Guest guest
Hello to all: Just a cute story from the MI program: We were sitting in the darshan line waiting to get our hugs. I noticed a young boy of about 3-5 years in line in front of us. he had an extremely long balloon (the kind to make balloon animals out of). As he stepped up for darshan the balloon was kind of awkwardly in the way and kept brushing up against Amma. She took the balloon, put the end in her mouth and sucked on it so a small bubble appeared at the end. Everyone watching was delighted at this act, although the young boy seemed slightly distressed. He and his mother then stepped aside to let others get their hugs, but stayed to the side and appeared to speak with Amma. As I came up and recieved my hug, they were still standing there talking to Amma and as she embraced me she grabbed the balloon again and put it into her mouth once again. She made a larger bubble at the end much to the delight and envy of the surrounding people. I was thinking how wonderful it would be to have something that Amma had put into her own mouth! When the bubble at the end was a good size, she handed the balloon back to the little boy, who (to my surprise) did not appear very happy about it. He looked at the end of his balloon where the bubble now was, looked right at Amma, and said "It's supposed to be a sword!" To this reply everyone in the area began to laugh hysterically including Amma. The boy, however began to cry! It was the most amazing experience! One last story tidbit: During the last night (devi bhava) when i went up for my hug (with my father) Amma hugged him first, then embraced me. She let me go, smiled one of her amazing smiles, and said something which I could not define, but her tone of voice and my heart told me that she said that everything would be fine. She then embraced us both again and when she let us go she kissed our hands. Then, much to my delight, she embraced me again--but not in her usual manner-she hugged me, not to her breast as usual, but instead hugged me so that my cheek was pressed against hers (kind of like a "normal" person would hug someone). And then she KISSED my cheek!! I couldn't believe it! All I could do was smile uncontrollably and revel in the amazing feeling that came over me. I remember that I could still feel the exact place her cheek had pressed against mine and where she had kissed me when I woke up that morning. It felt kind of tingly and warm. I thought twice before washing my face that morning! As if that SHOW STOPPING hug wasn't enough, she asked us to sit with her up on stage afterwards! What a blessing! What love! I can't even begin to express how wonderful the entire experience was! Still in the warmth of her embrace: Sara
