Guest guest
I attended Amma's program in San Ramon yesterday. The crowds were bigger than usual, leading to parking hassles etc. Amma was the same as before, and I enjoyed myself immensely. A couple of stories: I had been standing behind Amma and chatting, but then it got pretty crowded back there. So I decided to leave. Amma turned around and made an enquiring gesture, and I told her that I was leaving because I thought that perhaps she would like to speak to some of her other children now. "But of course, I am your only son, right?" I added. Amma responded that although the inner mother will always be with me, if I try to grab the outer mother and keep her to myself, she will vanish. I should hold her like I would hold water in a cupped open palm. If I were to try and clutch the water, it would leak out. My 9-year-old son asked Amma if he could do prasad seva with his two friends, and after some hemming and hawing, Amma agreed to let them do it for a short time. After the stipulated time, I told my son to step away, and Amma asked me to shut up. I think my son was secretly thrilled that his 'boss' (me) was being told off by Amma. The kids had a blast.
