The AITEC is situated in the land of the international headquarters of the Matha Amritanandamayi Mutt. Br Abhayamrita Chaitanya, the correspondent of Amrita Institutions, told newsmen here on Saturday that realising the necessity of having research and development an integral component of engineering education, the Amrita ITF labs, the R&D wing of Amrita Institutions offer staff and students an invaluable opportunity to engage in R&D work in Applied Computing. The intranet system of the campus provides online course delivery and management system, online digital library and online technical discussions. The AITEC, Amritapuri, is planning to commence UG-level courses in core engineering disciplines like Electrical and Electronics and Mechanical as well as Bio Technology and Bio Informatics. Efforts are on to develop the institute as a centre for excellence and technical learning with unparalleled state-of-the-art infrastructure. The function in connection with the inauguration will be presided over by Education Minister Nalakathu Soopy. Matha Amritanandamayi Mutt vice-chairman Swami Amritaswaroopananda Puri will deliver the benedictory address.
