Namaste,

I was unable to sleep last night and came down and flipped the tv on. I

normally make a cup of tea and go back to bed but after flipping threw

what felt like a zillion channels of paid programming I stumbled across

a channel I have never seen before called World Link TV. I watched a bit

and left the tv on that channel and went to bed thinking it looked

really interesting. Since a couple of my boys are not feeling really

well we actually camped out in the family room and watched this channel

today so I can recommend it for families but with adult supervision to

talk about the issues and images they will see.

World Link tv from what I can tell and read on my little channel

description guide and the bit I saw on their web site (see link below)

is a channel devoted to getting the news of the world out to people. But

not just the news you might see on your local channel this is more and I

lack the words at the moment to really tell you what I have seen today.

I was able to watch a beautiful film and then a documentary called "One

child, One voice" which was a great show for children to learn about

world issues like pollution and deforestation and it gave them something

to do after the show to help. They seem to have independent films and

documentaries (*wink wink at Tara*) as well as world music. We also

watched a show by the Earth Council on how developing countries can help

themselves to gain resources.

They also will be covering the World Summit this week.

So if your looking for something good to watch on tv for yourself or

with the family I would recommend this channel. You will walk away

feeling empowered and like you can make a difference and want to make a

difference and it will spark some great conversations with the kids.
