Vasanas/Amma's darshan

I certainly agree that uncomfortable situations

bring out our vasanas and a chance to change for

the better. But I've found too many times that

this very "truth" is abused by devotees to rationlize

other's unacceptable behavior, allowing them to

continue in it. There is no reason why darshan

programs couldn't be more pleasant to serve

and be served at except for the tamasic tendancies

of some participants. But like Jesus said,

he didn't come to save the just, but the sinners.

I'm guessing Amma's approach is the same.

I've always had trouble convincing people that

regardless of what a person sees themself as

(spiritual or non-spiritual) the actuality is

that the majority of people that come to darshan

programs are worldly... They're "spiritual"

people, but examining their lives and daily

actions and true goals, liberation or being

a better person is certainly not what's

on their minds.
