Guest guest
This from the Archives, April 2002 Kundaliniyoga, "~ Ranjit Kaur ~" <ellester wrote: Yoga for the Prostate: Position: Start on your hands & knees, wrists directly below shoulders, knees directly under hips, knees & legs pressed together. Movement: Lift the feet about 60 degrees off the ground, or whatever is comfortable. Move feet to the right side, and look back at them. Then swing feet back through center to the left side, looking back at them to the left. This is your back and forth motion. You may want a blanket or extra padding under your knees. Breath: The breath is similar to Kapalabhati, which is a variation of Breath of Fire that concentrates only on the exhale. You "sniff" out the exhale strongly, and so that the inhale happens automatically. Each time you turn your head to look back at your feet, sniff out. The inhale happens as you pass through the neutral starting position. Time: Sorry, I'm not sure if there is a prescribed time for this one, I would do it at least for a minute or as long as it feels comfortable. Benefits: For men, this is said to tone and heal the prostate and to prevent prostate problems. The male students I have taught this one to, say that their testicles seem to tighten and lift up when they do this (giggling may occur!) It may also benefit the reproductive organs and root chakra in women as well (I do it because it's fun!), but specifically it addresses the prostate gland. Anyone have anything to add? Also all you men, I would appreciate some feedback on this one if you try it!
