It's been said that Siva is original hunter god. The crescent moon like horns,

and his compliment, worn on the head, shakti as the nityas (waxing

consciousness) I guess.

Hm...I'm now wondering if this isn't the ancient Horned One modernized...which

of course would equate to Siva except that the Davidic/Hindu Siva would be a

much later expression...and should admit: I find the pre-language Horned One

expressions of THAT far more moving than the more civilized ones....sTo

Oh yes indeed....and I think it's spot on to see him so...The Shiva

that we revere today is a very late expression indeed...for private

use I often make cyber images of Shiva using The Horned One for my

Shiva. The Horned One transcends civilizations and chauvinistic

societies and therefore, for me, carries much less baggage. You've

read Danielou on all this? S (and Nandi bein' the rupa...I've

thought this too but it's the sort of thought one sends out for
