Guest guest
Hello everyone.. I am a born-hindu but recently I have been plagued by doubts and questions about Hinduism and Hindu philosophy.. I guess there is a phase in everyone's life when they start questioning their beliefs.. I am undergoing this right now and I am desperate for some answers.. Any replies to this post would be of utmost help.. 1. Is Hinduism polytheistic only because the qualities of the abstract Brahman cannot be conceived by the layman? Or did idolatry begin with mythologies and legends? 2. Is performing rites & rituals; japas, yajnas, artee, pujas considered as something only laymen would do? Why don't Hindus pray directly to Bhagwan like say for example the Muslims do? 3. What is logic behind reincarnation? How can avataras be considered as Gods if they had been living-walking men on this earth? 4. What is the validity of the Vedas as the absolute sacred texts when they have been created through oral transmission of supposedly divine inspiration/knowledge to rishi-munis who are human/mortals and hence apt to make mistakes? Guest guest
I would try to explain this in simpliest form possible ................................................... I am a born-hindu but recently I have been plagued by doubts andquestions about Hinduism and Hindu philosophy.. I guess there is aphase in everyone's life when they start questioning their beliefs..I am undergoing this right now and I am desperate for some answers.. It is good feeling To understand the sprituality of religion one need to have these seeking mind. Please accept it and do not treat like a negative feeling. Anyway being born in certain culture do not ensure you are a follower of the religion culture . You can be born a hindu but do not practice hindusim. Spirituality is an attainment ......................... 1. Is Hinduism polytheistic only because the qualities of theabstract Brahman cannot be conceived by the layman? Or did idolatrybegin with mythologies and legends? Read Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna to have holistic understanding of this perception. God is formless , formful and also beyond..................... Truly for bhaktha the Lord manifest himself in whatever form that it please Him. For a Jnana yogi every thing is Brahman alone ............................So where is this so called idolatry...................................Truly only God and he who have attained Him know who He really is ...................... 2. Is performing rites & rituals; japas, yajnas, artee, pujasconsidered as something only laymen would do? Why don't Hindus praydirectly to Bhagwan like say for example the Muslims do? Hinduism do not beleive God is only conditioned to be in certain way .Even none of the religion do . Even among muslims we have different approach under different sect and so do we have for buddhist and christians as well.Truth is one, paths are many .Unity in diversity.Worship is path towrsd un with GOd . Read about Ramakrishna Paramahamsa you would understand this ........................... Maa does different dishes according to the tempremant of spritual aspirants . There are myriads of approach towards the same goal and everybody have a choice according to their spritual fervour so long it is guided by an experienced master and scriptural recognised methodology.Fro the Mother so long the child get the nourishment it needs she is happy....................... 3. What is logic behind reincarnation? How can avataras beconsidered as Gods if they had been living-walking men on this earth? Reincarnation is born out of our karmic tendencies( law of cause and effect).Truly there is no death to your real self . Only you change your physical body . Such process is neccesary to ensure you could work out your karmic tendecies for your spritual evolvement and this takes time . Your physical sheath is made out of 5 material matters( fire ,ether etc.) and have tendency to get diseased ,old and sick over a period of time thus the neccesity of being born again in new physical body.Avatharas are not GOD but god incarnate. There is a thin line of separation. We are all GOD but out of ignorance have forgotten but this avathar remember this while they still in this physical body .The avathars are considered GOD INCARNATE as they realised their true self while living and walking with us while we are ignorant of this fact . They are here to show the path that's all............. 4. What is the validity of the Vedas as the absolute sacred textswhen they have been created through oral transmission of supposedlydivine inspiration/knowledge to rishi-munis who are human/mortalsand hence apt to make mistakes? Any transmission of material knowledge could be miscommunicated and misunderstood . But spritual knowlede are communicated by enlighten beings who could be the rishis and munis . How to know whether this teaching are wrong or right? Very simple apply it in our life and see whether the results promised are achieved or not . This is what all spritual seekers do since centuries ago and so far nobody have disagreed with the findings in the vedas yet ................Perhaps you could give it a try too.....................
