Nepal Govt Organizes Buddha Purnima Celebration Commitee

On the occasion, the big World Peace Bell located at Lumbini would be struck ten

times symbolising the Ten Perfections of Buddhahood. Similarly, other programmes

under the celebration include inauguration of biogas plant at Kudan in

Kapilbastu, organisation of a seminar on local participation in the development

of Kapilbastu, organisation of seminar on the participation of local people in

the development of Lumbini and Ramgram, identification of various local

development programmes and distribution of stipends to 101 students, the

Lumbini Development Trust stated. A meeting chaired by Secretary at the

Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Govinda Prasad Pandey here

today, collected suggestions from the members of the Main Celebration Committee

regarding celebration of the Lumbini Day. At the meeting, Member Secretary of

the Trust Govinda Chitrakar gave out information in connection with the

improved situation in Lumbini while Pandit Buddhi Ratna

Bajracharya stressed the need of establishing a Buddhist University for

promoting world
