Swami Ramdev to conduct Yoga camps in Pakistan

New Delhi, April 16 (UNI): After winning millions of followers in

India, renowned Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev is all set to conduct his

training camps on foreign soil, starting with Pakistan in July.

The Swami received his inspiration to visit the neighbouring country

and motivate people there into practising the traditional Indian Vedic

system from a newspaper survey, which voted him as the "most popular

Indian in Pakistan".

Even Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan was ranked behind him in that survey.

"Swami Ramdev believes that his mission for bringing health and peace

is for the entire humanity, transcending the geographical boundaries,"

said Mr S K Tijarewala, the spokesman of the Hardwar-based Patanjali

Yogapeeth, headed by the Yoga Guru.

The Swami's itinerary during the year will also take him to US,

Britain, Japan and Australia.

Swami Ramdev said he was under tremendous pressure from millions of

overseas Yoga followers, including not only the Non-Resident Indians

but also the local residents, who have already established a bonding

with him through Astha TV channel, whose programmes are telecast in

over 100 countries.

A survey by a national news channel has also received people's

endorsement that the Swami should propagate India's age-old Yoga,

Ayurveda and Vedic culture on foreign soil.

Mr Tijarewala said there are around 17 million Yoga followers in the

US. Besides, the popularity of the Yoga is increasing phenomenally in

that country. "This shows that the west is eagerly looking towards the

east to show them the path of a constructive, stress-free and healthy

existence."
