Condemns Terrorism in Varanasi in India.>March 8, 2006>>Overseas Friends of BJP

(OFBJP)-USA condemns the dastardly and barbaric act of>terrorism in the holy

city of Varanasi; India perpetrated by the Jihadi>terrorists coming from across

the border, in which about 15 innocent persons>were killed and scores were

injured. OFBJP offers condolences to the Family and>friends of the victims and

also to the people of Varanasi. The ghastly action>of bombing a revered and

ancient Hindu Temple such as Sankat Mochan Temple and>a crowded place such as

Varanasi Railway station shows the nefarious designs of>the terrorists. Four

more bombs were diffused just in time near the famous>bathing ghat called

Dasaswamedh Ghat on the banks of holy river Ganga.>>Recently, the terrorists

have tried to blow away the Sri Ram Janambhoomi Temple>at Ayodhya. At the eve

of the last Diwali festival, which is the biggest Hindu>Festival, the

Lashkar-E-Toiba (LET) terrorists have triggered serial bomb>blasts in crowded

market places in New Delhi to inflict maximum death count and>now this gory

incident happened in the Temple complex itself. What is planned>next? Mathura,

Tirupati, Puri etc?>>We all know that LET is an internationally banned

terrorist organization, but>unfortunately it has been surviving and thriving

due to the support of the>Pakistani government and its military establishment.

However, the ruling UPA>government is busy tapping the phones of its political

foes or using the>intelligence agencies against the opposition leaders. There

were intelligence>reports of giving warning to the Federal and State

governments about this>terror strikes, but no precautionary action was taken.

This shows that these>governments are totally incapable of stopping terrorist

activities and>providing safety to the citizens of India.>>Since, UPA

government assumed office; it repealed acts like POTA meant to>control the

terrorism, and because such soft attitude the terrorists are>getting emboldened

and free to carry on such heinous crimes. And in such>terrorist acts only the

Hindu community is their target. This UPA government>has shown that it cannot

protect its people. Its vote bank politics reached>such a crescendo that it is

now amending the foreigner’s act in Assam with an>eye on Assam elections. OFBJP

demands that UPA government should resign>immediately. OFBJP fully supports the

bandh call given by BJP and VHP in UP>against this cowardly act of terrorists.

OFBJP appeals to the Indian public and>specially the people of Varanasi to
