Guest guest Posted March 8, 2006 Report Share Posted March 8, 2006 Yoga club hosts lecture on vegetarianism by Natalie Bidnick, Associate News Editor, nbidnick March 07, 2006 The Bhakti Yoga Club, a campus organization designed to encourage the student community to appreciate and apply spiritual knowledge as given in the Vedic scriptures, will host a lecture on vegetarianism today from 6:30-8 p.m. in Room 113 of the Junkins building. Professor Dalia Abdel-Hady and the Chaplain Rev. Will Finnin will lead the lecture. In addition to promoting vegetarianism, the Bhakti Yoga Club holds weekly meetings involving mantra-yoga, meditation, music and philosophical discussions. Its basis is the Bhagavad-Gita, the "timeless source of Vedic wisdom and the essence of all ancient Indian scriptures," according to the club's Web site.
