Her presentations were scheduled with Swedish and American associations all over Europe. She talked at network luncheons, dinner meetings, mini fairs, presented at exercise class, as part of a program, or alone, before the food and wine or sometimes at the very end. Each group had different space in terms of time and subject matter. Sometimes she wouldn't know until she arrived how long she was expected to talk or what topic had been advertised. - Fantastic training to stay present and be here now, she says. She found that each group was very different. What worked great in one place fell flat in the next. Sometimes she sold a lot, at some places nothing at all. The average sales at presentations is ten percent, according to the experts. Eva Dillner did better than that. She also knows from book signings that sales on the day may be small, the numbers show up in the weeks that follow. As her books are easily available through the internet and booksellers around the world she wasn't pressed to make the sale at the presentations. She was asked many times if the tour was making money. - One thing is for sure, she says. If I'd stayed at home in Eksjö, nothing would have happened. - The best part of this tour, she continues, was the chance to travel all over Europe and meet so many interesting people. Not only my gracious hosts, but all the owners of little inns in the hills and valleys of Europe's charming countryside. Her German is passable as a tourist, her French quite good. - Spanish was another matter. I know only a few words and often felt lost and vulnerable. But I wouldn't have skipped it for the world, Eva concludes. More than one way to travel Eva Dillner had planned to continue the marketing tours in 2006, going first to North America then the British Isles. The universe showed her a more creative way to travel. Instead of going in person, her books and words would take the trip. Her "Lucky to be Alive" true life story and healing journey book will be showcased at the London Book Fair, the world's leading spring publishing event, March 5 - 7, 2006. For a cost considerably less than going on her own, Foreword Magazine represents Eva and other independent authors to one of the largest buying publics in the book business. Originally written as part of therapy, her book is called THE NAKED TRUTH - AN EXERCISE IN THERAPEUTIC STORYTELLING AND THE PRINCIPLES INVOLVED IN BECOMING FINALLY FREE. Hailed by therapists as a ground breaking work, it's a spellbinding read for lay people as well. More-ish, as Eva's sister-in-law would say. Her words will travel in other ways as well. First out are a couple of articles for one of Sweden's bookstores, to be published on their website. To follow are articles for British and American magazines. Time is the biggest investment here, not money. For the magazine articles, it is not a given they will accept and publish them. But one thing is for sure, nothing will happen if you don't try. Vedic Art Painting Process helps unclog writer's block In the fall of 2000 Eva began a journey of intuitive painting called Vedic Art. The seventeen basic principles were developed by the Swedish artist Curt Källman together with the Maharishi. The purpose of Vedic Art is the same as any inspirational or intuitive painting, to become one with the flow, to be the I AM. There are many ways to reach this state of being, i.e. meditation, toning or release dancing. Eva attributes the monthly painting sessions as a significant factor in unleashing her writing debut in 2002. The cover on The Naked Truth is one of her works, more paintings can be viewed on her website. Networking through the internet builds global presence Staying connected with friends around the world is an important aspect of Eva's marketing. Through a connection in Ottawa who had visited Taiwan, she found out about Page One - The Bookshop Pte Ltd., an international book wholesaler and retail group based in Singapore and with operations in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Taiwan and Thailand. Not one to delay, Eva googled the internet and found their website, contacted the main buyer and now her books are available in Asia, to an audience hungry for English language books. Eva's books are particularly suited to the market, as the interest in stress management is high and her books are written in a clear and easy to understand English. The 24/7 information booth Not surprising for someone who was an engineer to begin with, Eva manages her own website www.divinedesign.nu to work for her 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. With the software available today, doing a website is no more difficult than learning word processing. Her objective is to make the site well organized and easy to navigate, with a balance of information density. Essentials should be accessible at a glance, with the possibility of going deeper if one wishes. Updated and expanded this week be sure to take a tour and bookmark for future visits. Creative marketing a must for independent authors Eva concludes by saying that each author will need to find their very own way to present their wares. What works for one is another's nightmare. Each book has it's own audience, but as she found out it may not be who you expect. When she did a release dancing session with the Friskis and Svettis exercise club in Madrid, one of the leaders purchased GOD PUT A DREAM IN MY HEART - HANDBOOK OF LIFE THERAPY. He wanted to introduce a deeper awareness of body and soul beyond the physical. Maybe her book will become a cult classic in the fitness movement? You never know. About Eva Dillner Eva Dillner spent fifteen years in the corporate world before turning her attention inward, to study Life Therapy with the best in the business. Her writing career began in 2002 while laid up with a broken ankle. She has published three books and is at work on a fourth...
