Guest guest Posted February 25, 2006 Report Share Posted February 25, 2006 Deity to be adorned with 'Diamond netripattai' Madurai,Feb 25: The presiding deity of the Meenakshi Sundareswar temple, Sri Sundareswarar, is to be adorned with a "Diamond NetriPattai", costing Rs 30 lakh, from Mahashivarathri on February 26. The Jewel, containing 2001 Diamond stones,each weighing three carats, and a original Burma ruby at the Centre,has been made from the temple fund and money from the Donors, the Chairman Board of Trustees and Industrialist T.Kannan told newsmen here this evening. The Diamond ornament would be adorned on important days to the deity.
