Guest guest
County Maintains Maharishi Vedic City roads under 28E agreement By Lacey Jacobs, Ledger staff writer02/21/2006 The mileage is increasing, but the rate per mile remains the same in a 28E Agreement with Maharishi Vedic City for the maintenance of roads approved by the Jefferson County Board of Supervisors this morning. County engineer Tom Goff said the revised agreement reflects the additional land annexed by Vedic City. It will go into effect July 1. The total mileage is not quite six miles, supervisor Steve Burgmeier said. According to Goff, the rate per mile, which is $300 per mile for in-city roads, was determined around 1986 and is the same for all of the cities with which the county has an agreement. Burgmeier asked Goff to look at the rate and have information ready for the supervisors by December, so they can consider changing the rate before the agreement automatically renews. The supervisors also set the county's public budget hearing for 9:40 a.m. March 6. A hearing regarding the authorization of a loan agreement has already been set for that morning as well. Burgmeier reported that the Jefferson County Ambulance Service Agency has approved the purchase of a new ambulance. http://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm? newsid=16169062&BRD=1142&PAG=461&dept_id=567522&rfi=
