Guest guest
>From Orissa >From the Principal's desk Education is a continuous process. The process of globalisation and explosion of knowledge have made a deep impact on education and rapid changes are leading to uncertainties in social life. Everyone, parents and teachers alike should understand that instead of pressurising children only to access knowledge for reproducing it in examinations, we should try to create an environment where they can grow freely and assimilate other qualities; one should see inherent qualities of a child are groomed properly. No child can be termed as good or bad. When a child is admitted in a school, parents' expectations become too high regarding the academic performance of their ward. The school's standard is also sometimes judged from the academic performance shown by the student in the board and competitive examinations. As a result present day education system is indifferent itself from its real objective. With the ongoing sea-change in the education system, we need to remain alert to achieve the real objective of education for the all-round development of the personality by providing a free and natural atmosphere to make a true human of the child. SANJAY SINHA Principal, DAV Public School PPL Township, Paradeep >From the Regional Director The DAV organisation is harbinger of Vedic consciousness through its 700 institutions and has been deep rooted in the academic sphere together with the modern way of living. It has stretched its noble wings not only in India but also in other countries to inculcate value based education and create value oriented school atmosphere. It goes to the credit of Dr. A. N. Khosla, the then Governor of Orissa for launching the DAV movement in Orissa in 1968 and we are now carrying on his legacy. The DAV Public School, PPL is one of the most brilliant sparkle of this grant movement. Since the day of its inception in 1988, DAV Public School, PPL aims at creating individuals of dignified identity by means of various outlets. Undoubtedly, the school has achieved many but some remain unexplored and unrealised. The school is now marching towards a brighter future of greatness and prosperity. I am sure the day is not far away when this noble goal will be achieved. Dr. H. K.
