Leahy says he is disappointed that US trained Royal Nepal Army chief of staff, General Pyar Jung Thapa didn't "learn that that the function of a modern, professional military is to protect the rights and security of the people……," Leahy says he recognizes the acts of extortion, looting, kidnapping and killing by the Maoists are wrong. Sees the truce as just a tactic and that their Political Allies are self serving but they are still the true representatives of Nepal's people. Despite all this, Leahy blamed everything on the 'King's obstinacy and unpopularity.' Refering to Maoists street provacateours as Pro-Democracy demonstrators, he says that the Maoist truce was an opportunity for the Nepal Royal Army to put a break on the King's 'Imperial Ambitions.' The Democratic Senator from Vermont Patrick Leahy called upon the Bush Administartion to deny US visas to all Nepal officials and their families and support 'Democracy' with or without the 'Palace.' Leahy claims that the Maoist grievances mirror the legitamate complaints of Nepal's people and that the Maoist have opened the door a crack for the development of the establishment of transparent democracy. He urges the International Community to lend its support to the Maoist.Leahy also seconded the Maoist and Allied Parties 12 point agreement stance to place Nepal's military under the supervision of the UN Maoists terrorize 300 villagers who broke the padlocks placed by the Maoist on their own homes , warning given that any who dare to break the locks will have their houses burnt down. Maoists force villagers to act against the family of a son who joined the Army Spokesperson of the Ekata Kendra Masal, Chitra Bahadur KC says he is against his Party being allied with the Maoist. Claims the alliance was formed solely on the personal desicion of its Chairman, Amik Sherchan Maoist Terror Leader Prachanda issues a statement calling for a Feb 5-12 2006 strike and urging people to "revolt" against the "feudal rule" and 'Imperial Ambitions' of King Gyanendra, Crown Prince Paras and other royalists and boycott the elections. All transport, shops and markets, educational institutions, industries and offices will be shut down. Maoist Terror Leader, Prachanda issues a call to a new strategy, "Party workers in the East, look Westward and those in the West look Eastward and begin the March on Kathmandu" for Good - Make a difference this year.
