The Vyasasan prepared for Srila Krishnadas Kaviraj Goswami,

beautifully decorated on the special day of the opening of his holy

memorial.

Sandip Krishna Prabhu, one of the main organisers of the opening day

ceremony, explains the significance of this Memorial:

This Memorial has been constructed on the very site where Srila

Krishnadas Kaviraj Goswami composed time to time Sri Chaitanya

Charitamrita and worshipped Sri Sri Radha Vrindavan Chandra. This

important project was envisioned by Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-

Goswami Maharaj, Guru-Acharyya of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math

International Mission, for the purpose of propagating and teaching

Sri Rupanuga Vaisnava Spiritual Culture and philosophy to humanity.

Sripad Avadhut Maharaj of Russia and Sripad Siddhanti Maharaj of

USA, led the opening of the Memorial on behalf of His Divine Grace

Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj.

Sripad Siddhanti Maharaj in particular glorified Sripad Avadhut

Maharaj, who Srila Gurudev personally requested to lead the opening

of the Memorial:

When Sripad Avadhut Maharaj was in Calcutta, Srila Gurudev had a

meeting and said he thought only Avadhut Maharaj could arrange a

proper opening of the Memorial Hall. Srila Gurudev wanted him to go

to Vrindavan and open the Memorial on Sri Govardhan Puja day. Sripad

Avadhut Maharaj accepted that service and came here. I feel he did a

very good job. He arranged everything that was needed and,

especially on the opening day, he took charge and became the master

of ceremonies. He gave an introductory speech, called on respectable

Vaisnavas to speak, and led the programme of events. With Avadhut

Maharaj present, the opening of Srila Krishnadas Kaviraj Goswami's

Memorial was well organised, smooth and grand - a real success.

I can understand why Srila Gurudev selected Avadhut Maharaj for this

seva. And Sandip Krishna Prabhu, who Srila Gurudev also requested to

take involvement in the opening of the Memorial, was a great help to

Avadhut Maharaj and a definite positive force.

Sripad Giri Maharaj (pictured left) was one of the many honourable

sannyasi dignitaries present who spoke on this occasion.

After the programme in the main hall of the Memorial had finished,

the devotees held an inaugurating kirttan in a room within the

building which will serve as a unique bookstore, providing our books

from all around the world, in many languages, for visiting

pilgrims.

Afterwards, the devotees honoured a grand feast. Maheswari Devi

Dasi assists with cleaning seva.
