Guest guest Posted November 16, 2005 Report Share Posted November 16, 2005 Revathi Pattathanam' begins - - Kozhikode: 'Revathi Pattathanam', the annual intellectual debate among Vedic scholars, began at the famous Tali temple here this morning. Aswathi Tirunal Gauri Lakshmibhai of the Travancore royal family inaugurated a procession of elephants, `Kalaripayattu' groups, `Thalapoli' and `Panchavadyam' to mark the occasion. K S Radhakrishnan, Vice-Chancellor of Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady, delivered the keynote address. Jnanpith laureate, M T Vasudevan Nair would preside over the valedictory function in the evening. P K S Raja, scion of the Zamorin royal family, the erstwhile dynasty of Kozhikode, will present awards to the winning scholars. The rituals include `Murajapam' in three Vedas, Udayasthamana Puja for Tali Mahadevan and Sri Krishna and `Navakom' and special puja with `Panchagavyam' for `Ugra Narasimhamoorthi'.
