Around two lakh devotees take holy dip in Pushkar lake

Ajmer (Raj), Nov. 15. (PTI): Vedic hymns rent the air, along with the

toll of bells and sounding of conch shells, as nearly two lakh

devotees took holy dip today in the Pushkar lake, around 10 km from

here, on the occasion of Kartik Poornima.

The devotees wearing colourful traditional dresses thronged nearby

temples, including the famous Brahma Mandir, They also distributed

alms to the poor.

Meanwhile, a festive mood prevailed at the venue of the Pushkar fair,

with tourists, including a large number of foreign visitors, enjoying

camel rides and folk music.

Cattle worth more than Rs 9 crores were sold in the fair, official

sources said.
