KATHMANDU, Oct. 21: After three successful shows in Birtamode of

Jhapa, Hetauda and Ghorahi, Dang, the "Sundar Shanta Nepal"

Travelling Peace Concert 2005 team put up another impressive display

at Dhangadi, Kailali today.

Every singer and their songs received thunderous applause from the

massive crowd of 20,000 men, women and children present at the

Trinagar Secondary School ground today.

There were a significant number of women and children who came to

enjoy the musical show, a first of its kind held in this part of the

Far Western Region.

"It has been 7 to 8 years that the people in general have forgotten

the taste of happiness and enthusiasm, and though for a brief moment

this Peace Concert has given the people here a taste of such

happiness," said Mohan Raj Bhatta, principal of the Higher Secondary

School.

The Peace Concert today kicked off in a very enthusiastic style with

the popular Deuda singer Nanda Krishna Joshi warming up the audience

while Swaroop/Satya Raj Acharya, Sapanashree, Jyoti Ghimire, Kunti

Moktan, Om Bikram Bista along with Nepathya Band entertained the

throng with their hit numbers.

The show was concluded with the rendition of theme song—Sundar Yesai

Chhandai Chha Nepal, Sandhai Shanta Rahos (Our country has always

been beautiful and let it always be peaceful) sung collectively by

all the singing artistes.

The Peace Concert was also telecast live by local STS Cable TV.

Trinagar Secondary School, Federation of Nepalese Journalists,

Kailali Branch and local NGOs—Sarwangin Bikash Kendra and

Sirjansheel Samaj Ko Srijana were local co-hosts of the Peace

Concert.

All proceeds from the ticket sales will be used to support the

social initiatives taken by these organisations. Following Dhangadi,

the Traveling Peace Concert will now travel to Tansen, Palpa (Oct.

24), Damauli, Tanahu (Oct. 26), Charikot (Oct. 28) and will have a

grand finale at Bhaktapur Durbar Square in Bhaktapur on October 30.

Sundar Shanta Nepal, Traveling Peace Concert is organised by Himal

Association and managed by event Nepa~laya.
