China's International Yoga Show

Indian trainers to feature in Chinese yoga show

With yoga becoming increasingly popular in China, a leading company

here is gearing up to host the '2005 China International Yoga Show

and Conference' which is expected to feature Indian trainers of the

art.

 

 

The show, to be held in Beijing from October 21-23, will provide

Chinese people an opportunity to learn about yoga and healthy living, of Exposition and Convention Management of China

International Yoga Show and Conference, Brian Zhang said.

 

 

"Preparations for the show are going on smoothly and we are getting

good response from yoga groups from many countries, including India,"

Brian told PTI here.

 

 

The show has the backing of the Indian Embassy in China and official

sources confirmed that the mission was supporting the event as it

would give India a chance to showcase its rich cultural heritage to

the Chinese public. "Yoga is now highly popular in China and more and

more Chinese youngsters want to practise yoga as a means of

relaxation as well as to keep fit," Brian said.

 

 

"Our aim is to host the largest-ever yoga show which would also bring

China and India closer with many Indian yoga masters and

practitioners taking part to demonstrate their skills to the Chinese

audience for the first time," he said.
