Guest guest
TIRUPATI, FEB. 11, 2006 (TIRUPATITIMES.COM) Mr. Madhan Raj, a devotee from Chennai has donated 15 Silver Pots worth about Rs.6.5 lakh to Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala today. The devotee has made this offering as fulfillment of his vow; temple sources said adding that the Pots would be used in the temple rituals. On Thursday last too, Mr. Alagappa Chettiar, another devotee from Coimbatore has made an offering of a Golden Pot weighing about 2 Kg, worth about Rs.15 lakh to the Lord. Guest guest
Namaste all, It is very nice to see people fulfilling vows and offering so much, especially in these highly materialistic and consumer-based times. However, IMHO, it is important to not loose site of what is really important, at the heart, of offerings. My concern was that the wrong message could be interpreted from this post and perhaps new members to this area might think that their offerings must be fantastically expensive. Spiritually effective offerings are never really about external quantity but rather inner quality. Who does all the wealth of the world really belong to anyway? Ganesh after all is known as Nideeshwaram, the giver of wealth and treasures, and Vishwaraja, the king of the world. Behind the veil it can be seen that it is all the shakti of Sri Ganesh, the play of God. It is only on this side of the veil that we think treasures and wealth are ours to give. Why do you think the goddess Lakshmi is always with Ganesh! lol Lord Ganesh's form is so easy to love and he is so involved in our worldly life, that we can easily forget his nirguna nature and limit our devotion to him to just involving worldly matters. Hence it reads about him in the Ganapatyatharshirsham - You are full of perfect knowledge of truth and awareness! You are full of bliss and pure consciousness! You are truth, consciousness and bliss! You are the absolute awareness! You are full of supreme wisdom and knowledge! When offering to Ganesh one is offering to Maheshwaram, the lord of the universe. IMHO, the simplest offering given with humble devotion is more worthy than giving all the material wealth in the world offered without any love. With jnana in mind and bhakti in heart you are really offering up the ego and your sense of seperation, which is the greatest of offerings. Om Shanti Neil O Ganapati! Please listen to us and take Your seat in our heart. - Rig Veda 2.23.1 , "amudala satyanarayana" <scribesatya wrote: > >Chennai devotee gifted 15 Silver Pots to Lord Venkateswara > >TIRUPATI, FEB. 11, 2006 (TIRUPATITIMES.COM) > >Mr. Madhan Raj, a devotee from Chennai has donated 15 Silver Pots >worth about Rs.6.5 lakh to Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala today. >The devotee has made this offering as fulfillment of his vow; >temple sources said adding that the Pots would be used in the >temple rituals. > >On Thursday last too, Mr. Alagappa Chettiar, another devotee from >Coimbatore has made an offering of a Golden Pot weighing about 2 >Kg, worth about Rs.15 lakh to the Lord. > >For the holy photos of Lord >http://www.tirupatitimes.com/holyPhotos.asp >
