I am an English Teacher from Florida, by way of New York and Texas. This past year, I fell in love with Lord Ganesh and feel a spiritual devotion to Him. I have never felt that for a diety in all of my life. I feel fully engaged in my devotion instead of just going through the motions. I am a beginner with a lot to learn. What a blessing to have this group! I have also tried to make little ganesh statues out of clay, however, they did not seem to do Him justice and looked rather childish. I have found a small ganesh statue in a New Age shop and I surround it with sandelwood incense and candles. I also have a small Ganesh pendent. As I am so very unsure of the mantras and do not want to make the "gum" mistake, I just chant "Aum..Ganesh" sometimes just AUM while meditating on the Lord Ganesh.
