Guest guest
Namaste All- My name is Devi, and I'm a Shakta Wiccan from Toronto, Ontario. I was originally adopted by Ganesha during my first year of University, when I began my Religious Studies degree, and took a course in Hinduism just out of interest. It ended up becoming my passion, and I ended up specializing in it for my BA. I am constantly surprised and comforted by Ganesha's loving presence in my life, and have never been dissapointed when I've called out to Him out of need. Within the past 3 years, Ganesha has led me to Durga, and now I am a devotee of Her as well. I am very excited to be moving into a new home in the fall, which will be large enough for me to have a room exclusively for my altars; I plan on building fairly elaborate ones for Ganesh and Durga, but, also having smaller ones for Saraswati, Lakshmi, Shiva, and Skanda. I have recently started up a !group of my own for those who identify themselves as Wiccan or NeoPagan but are most inspired by the Hindu Tradtion (much as other Wiccan/Pagan traditions are most inspired by the Celtic, Egyptian, Norse, etc traditions). I had never met another like me, but I am finding that we are more prevalent that I first expected. This has been a very pleasant surprise for me, and I am really enjoying the sense of community that the !group is fostering among our likeminds. However, that aside, I always am happy to join in discussion groups that focus on the Deities to Whom I am devoted. Hearing different perspectives, and learning more each day, is the only way to keep the mind young and the spiritual heart hungry! Guest guest
Devi, Thanks for your introduction; I think you will find many kindred spirits in this group. Ganesh does seem to be the avenue that leads one to many other important places. I need to keep rooted in him or I get off the track. I've been lead to Baba Neem Karoli, Sai Baba, Hanuman, Sri Nathaji, Ramakrishnan, Durga, Bhavani, etc., etc., but I need to keep coming back to base. Guest guest
Hello, My name is Ginny and I live in the US. Devi, I had a question for you...did you write an article for New Witch magazine called Loving Ganesha? If so, it was your work who introduced me to Lord Ganesh. I am now very devoted to Him. , "Devi Spring" <prana_devi> wrote: > > Namaste All- > > My name is Devi, and I'm a Shakta Wiccan from Toronto, Ontario.
