Guest guest
I was doing my morning meditation today, and suddenly felt a compulsion to worship Heramba Ganapati, Ganesha's aspect as the five-faced, lion-riding protector of handicapped people. I visualized him seated in my heart, and the following Gayatri invocation came to me: Om Herambaya vidmahe Panchamukhaya dhimahi Tanno danti prachodayat Om (Om we envision Heramba we meditate on the five-faced one May the Tusked One grant us enlightenment Om) Then I chanted Heramba's mantra 108 times: Om GOONG Namaha! (long "U" in "Gung") While chanting, I visualized Heramba in my heart sending beams of healing white light to everyone I knew whose health was compromised -- especially my father, my friend Barry who has MS, Simone, and myself. Then I assumed the Simhaasana (lion posture), and imagined Heramba seated on my back (he's not as heavy as he looks!), and we bowed in all ten directions. I finished with offering a sweet on my altar to Heramba, and thanked him. As a white complexioned aspect, I think Friday is probably a good day to worship him (Venus's color is crystalline white). It felt like a good healing exercise. Jai Heramba! -- Len/ Kalipadma Discover Use to plan a weekend, have fun online and more.
