In Japan's esoteric tradition of Shingon that dates back to animistic times and Tibetan traditions of yore (very ancient), there's a Female aspect of Lord Ganesha. If i can recall correctly, there are a couple of caves in Japan that contain wall etchings of the Female Ganesha too.
