THE YOGA HEALING WORKSHOP One, 27th to 29th MAY 2005Conducted by Swami

Alokananda Saraswatiand Guest Teacher Swami Ajnananda SaraswatiThe Workshop

will incorporate the practices of Prana Vidya, Antar Mouna, Nada and Mantra

Yoga together with Agnihotra (fire ceremony).According to Yoga, the quality,

quantity & free flow of Prana is essential for a healthy mind and body. This

‘practical’ workshop will provide techniques to help the participants not only

improve their own health but also that of others.Yoga's holistic approach to

Healing begins with mind/body interaction through the focussed practice of

Asana (Postures), with specific application to organic imbalances. The practice

of Antar Mauna (Inner Silence), a codified and systematic meditation on the mind

itself, brings liberation from the thrall of repetitive and obsessive thought

patterns, and the ability to

make thought both conscious and powerful. Kshetra Shuddhi (Trigger-point

purification), combined with Nada Yoga (Yoga of Sound), swiftly restores

energetic balance and is an ideal preparation for Prana Vidya. ‘Prana’ is the

Sanskrit word for the vital force or Cosmic Energy and ‘Vidya’ means to

know.Participants will learn about the ancient Yogic Healing tradition and

experience the techniques as taught by the wandering Mendicants of old.An

important aspect of the workshop is that it will be conducted in a simple yogic

environment designed to minimise distraction and enhance healing.The Teachers:

Alokananda Saraswati was born in Kolkata, India. In 1979 she returned to India

to study full time at the Bihar School of Yoga. She was formally recognised as

a Yogacharya (Master of Yoga) by Paramahamsa Niranjanananda of the

Bihar Yoga University in 1993. She established Yoga Centres in Tasmania, NSW and

Qld before returning to Perth in 2003, where she now teaches advanced yoga to

teachers and students while establishing Aloka’s School of Yoga.Swami Ajnananda

Saraswati, a direct disciple of Swami Satyananda, has been teaching aspects of

Prana Vidya for 28 years, making the techniques available to Western students

in a systematic, accessible format. He was Director of Yoga Darshan Ashram, a

residential Yoga Therapy facility, for 12 years and is the author of the award

winning manual "Mastery of Stress" (Llewellyn USA 1998).Details of The Yoga
