repetition with enough concentration. Actually you can either keep

track n a notebook if it is a long mantra and you do only a few per

day, or you can determine how many days for example that you will do

say 1000 per day. Often times people do more than the 125000 to

make sure :) My experience is that engaging in a committed Sadhana

brings benefits during as well as after the process.

and play the devils advocate sometimes its just to get closer to the truth

whatever that may be. I love Ganesha, more than words can say. For some reason

I have found a jewel within him that i hadnt seen in any other religion. I

seriously do chant and meditate every day if possible.

I dont wish or chant for anythinbg other than to be closer to him. In doing this

i just feal like every thing else will fall into place. Just want you all to

know that despite my hericy at times i am glad to be a member of Om Ganesh. Its

a beautiful thing the way the internet can allow us all to meet on the common

ground of ciber-space.

I'm told the 108 beads of a japa mala were determined

by multiplying the 12 astrological signs by the 9

planets used in Jyotish. So there's a bead for every

planet in every sign.

1008, 108, and 18 are magical numbers in a variety of

Eastern traditions. Even in Judaism, "Chai" the word

for "Life" is represented by the number 18.
