Guest guest
Namaste Brother Len, A few dimes' worth from yr lil sis in Ozland: ---------- Without disrespect..... but you can tell that Hindu Brahmin to take a hike. Ask him what Scripture says one has to be initiated by a Guru with the relevant mantra to be able to worship Herambaji?? Ganapatiji is closest to the human realm, in whatever Form He is worshipped. You are right; If Heramba dwells in your heart and you can see (visualize) Him right there, or even at the Muladhara chakra, combined with Bhakti, that is all that really matters at the end of the day. Just yell, holler or chant His Name and you bet He will be right there when He is "Ready" (in God's time, not ours ) Try the hour between 4am and 5am -- I know that is hard, especially during Noo Yawk winter temps at that hour but there ain't nothing to stop you from having a go Tantrics are Tantrics and you and I know there are many Schools or Lineages of Tantrism. Tons of different Tantric Texts too (I'm not tawking Neo-Tantra - bah). Who says a Tantrika cannot experiment? What scripture says a Tantrika is forbidden to experiment? Brahmin are Brahmins, many stick by the book and the background they were brought up in. Thus they are bound to tradition and whatever they were taught. Who says Tantrikas must be bound by tradition? Tantrics are totally a different kettle of fish from Brahmin Hindu. I work with many Brahmin Hindus and believe me, many eventually turn round and say they are "Smarta Hindu" instead ) Smarta Hindu means "Liberal Hindu". God is not binding; He/She does not give us the rope to hang ourselves. Though God can be ironical and plays tricks at the worst of times but these are all lessons in Maya and Leela, I guess..... And who says you cannot become a "Smarta Tantrika"? (Okay, I've now invented this new term, so to speak, and stauch traditionalists will disagree..... but hope you get the gist). You don't need no Tantric Guru for initiation. You Are The Tantric Guru Yourself !! You are Brahma, You are the Divine, You are Maa, You are Shiva, You are Vishnu, You are...... So Hum, Hum So, Aham, You are also Heramba Ganapatiji and whatever zillions of gods and goddesses in the Hindu or other pantheon if you wish. Think "It" and you become "It". Ahem.... Guest guest
Well said sister. Har Har Mahadev! Tking initiation from a real guru does help speed one on the path, but practice is still necessary. There are many mantras I have learned and used since I received my original initiation.. It is often said that repeating it sincerely 125000 times is needed to get the effect!
