Guest guest
Dear James, He was smiling with his mouth too. I guess he moved his trunk out of the way. But what I noticed mostly, was that he was holding my hand. Barbara - james richard Thursday, December 23, 2004 6:07 AM Re: Ganesh Smiles He smiles with his eyes. Its hard to describe. Guest guest
Dear Richard, This is just something which happened to me. He was holding my right hand with his lower right hand and smiling at me, and I think he doesn't have a weapon in his right hand. In any case, I was more of a devotee of Lord Shiva, and yet it was Ganesh I saw. My daughter had given me a nice wooden Ganesh, and for Christmas, to-day, she gave me a small clear quartz Ganesh on a stand which has a LED light inside which turns him many different colours. I think that I take Lord Shiva seriously, and I'm always worried that I'm not pleasing him or not pleasing him enough, and Ganesh came as a friend whom I don't have to please, whom I did nothing to please--that is why it is so strange that it was Ganesh. I had told my daughter that I would like it if she would print some old paintings of Lord Skanda from the computer for me for Christmas, but she didn't; she gave me the clear quartz Ganesh instead. He is about two and a half inches high. Barbara - james richard Saturday, December 25, 2004 7:35 PM Re: Ganesh Smiles Im sorry Barbara. I was just curious. Dont let me shake your faith. We are all one within the belly of Ganesh. He is part of all of us so what would be so strange about seeing him in a vision. He is there all the time whether we choose to see him or not. I dont think one can grasp his true nature in the rationality of the ego. His strength is limitless ,his memory timeless, and his wisdom beyond human comprehension. He is larger than the universe and small enough to fit in between the spaces of your atoms. He is as bold as love. Any time I can visualize him to the point where I feal a pearsonal connection makes me feal truly blessed. Keep the faith sister. James"Barbara J. You are taking it too seriously. I said, myself, that even I'm not sure I believe it. Guest guest
I usually see Ganesha as the Cosmic Nerd, and Skanda as the Cosmic Jock. (No offense is meant!) Ganesha comes from a head-centered space, and loves music, wordplay and puzzles, metaphor and symbolism. Skanda is more practical, spartan and simple, full of faith and very direct. Ganesha's symbol is the swastika, a sun-symbol with four twisted arms -- Ganesh doesn't take the direct way, he likes to meander and enjoy the trip. Skanda's symbol is the spear, or the light-beam. He doesn't shilly-shally, he just gets to the point. There are times when each mode of acting is appropriate (or inappropriate). The brothers have such different modes of working, that it's difficult for them to get along. But when one of their parents is added to the mix (either Shiva or Parvati/Durga) they are forced to co-exist peacefully. Ganesha Skanda intellect muscle power indirect direct sound light mother-centered father-centered grounded flighty sensual ascetic "trickster" "fool" -- Len/ Black Lotus "Barbara J. Shiva may be the kenetic enrgy but his true power is derived from his female shakti Parvati. Onthat day not only was Ganeshas life restoredbut he was made lord of the Ganas ,host of host. He is the head god in charge of all others in heaven and earth. Heis supposed to be invoked before even attemting to invoke other gods. He loves his father Shiva very much though . Even if he did behead him. Im sure he has a special place in his heart for those who love his father much like Jesus. Im not saying that this is a matter of fact, just my thoughts on the matter. Im not a super big fan of Skanda because he is so bitter carrying a bruised ego from being bested by his brother Ganesh. Ganesh is the mucg more clever of the 2.
