Guest guest
i am confused with the pronounciation of the word, ganeshaya, in the mantra, om gum ganeshaya namaha. how does one pronounce it? is it pronounced as gah-nay-shah-yah? and one more thing. there are a couple of ganesh mantras out there like om gum ganapataye namaha, om ganeshaya namaha etc but i don't know which one should i chant. are they all the same? the effect etc.

Guest guest
Dear Sadhakas, "Om Gung Ganapataye Namah" is the Beej Mantra of Lord Ganesha. Also remember that "Om Gam Ganapataye Namah" is also a Ganesh Mantra. The fruits of both these mantras are different. The "Gung" in the first mantra is to be pronounced as in "Sung". I too havent heard of "Om Gam Ganeshayah Namah". In case you want to start of with mantra shashtra and concentrate on Ganesh Mantras it is always better to start of with Beej Mantra. The Mantra " Om Ganeshayah Namah" is also a mantra used by many sadhakas. Finally you may use any mantra which you feel you are comfortable with and go ahead with it. "Om Shring Hring Kling Glaung Gung Ganapataye Vara Varada Sarvajaname Vashamanaya Svaha" MahaGanapati has three eyes, his Shakti on his left knee, and ten arms, holding as follows: right left discus conch (Vishnu & Lakshmi's tools) trident noose (Siva & Uma's tools) bow/ arrows blue lily (Kama & Rati's tools) club wish-vine (Varaha & Bhumi's tools) tusk citron (Ganesh & Pushti's tools) -- Len/ Kalipadma On Fri, 01 Oct 2004 05:10:58 -0000 "Kedar" <kedar_sadalgekar writes: > Dear Sadhakas, > "Om Gung Ganapataye Namah" is the Beej Mantra of Lord Ganesha.
