Namaste James,

Len Kalipadma actually had excellent points that are appreciated;

you see I forgot to mention that there are skilled "craftsmen" who

are able to replicate mercury beads, murtis, cups, Shree Yantra,

ShivaLingam, etc. but without the "siddhis" or means to actually

purify and consecrate them during the making process.

Hence beads made by craftsmen (who are not siddhars), would either

flake, change color or cause skin irritation and other symptoms of

discomfort if not mysterious ailments, depending on how sensitive or

vulnerable an individual is or his/her allergy levels. Hence

purchasing parad from a trusted and tested source is essential.

Beads made by craftsmen certainly require coating and lots of it

too. Hence my curiosity about the source hwere Len got his bead

from.

Just a matter of interest: Sri Gitananda, founder of Ananda Ashram

in South India wore parad beads and also had a parad Shiva Lingam

specially crafted for him by a Tamil Siddhar. (Sri Gitananda has

since attained MahaSamadhi.) I believe the parad Shiva Lingam and

beads are still at the ashram today in original form, i.e. intact.

Shall check out the website you mentioned and get back to you later

about it.

Meantime James when one is as highly attuned as yourself in

meditation, it is likely you will experience 'dark demons' that

arise to thwart your efforts in reaching a connection with the

Divine. Its hard for me to put into words an explanation but shall

try...... Have you seen the movie "Samsara"? Was recommended it by

a tantrik friend and had a look, pretty slow moving but has a lot of

truth in it which leads to the belief that the illustrious Indian

gent who made the movie, had done a lot of research. This movie

forms part of the explanation I'm not able to put into proper words

this morning......

Another attempt is:

During deep meditations, some folks are subject to hearing noises,

movements, even seeing thoughtforms and a host of other disturbing

experiences that vary from person to person when they get to that

stage. It is like a kind of 'abyss', where if one overcomes these

by focusing on just the meditation and remaining calmly stoic, one

crosses the 'bridge' eventually. When this occurs, you know you

never have to look back. Sadhus and Tibetan monks who perform

solitary meditation or sadhana in high altitude caves in the

Himalayas experience what we would term as horrifying thugs of war

between the 'self' and the 'demons', whether real or projected from

the subconscious mind, etc.. Many reasons why these occur; the

reasons encompass spiritual, surreal as well as scientific

explanations and some can be logic-defying. These experiences

sometimes makes one question their own sanity but most are

clinically sane individuals. How can I put it? this "dark night of

the soul or self" thing? Its a test of willpower, the wrestling

between positive and negative, etc. Inner strength is put to the

challenge..... i was told that the bridge is crossed by total

surrender to God in whatever form we conceive Him/Her to be, laying

the soul at God's hands and letting Him/Her mould our 'being',

across and past the lure of Maya (illusion) and Leela (play).

In the ability to see the difference between "illusion" and "light",

you are halfway if not almost there! What it takes is sheer

willpower to land on the ridge that you know is right. May you

perservere and attain new heights!

Friends, please add to this if you wish..... Pretty sure many

others on this list are able to explain things better than I can.

probabally would defeat the perpous of having some thing this

precious. Im sure if it was that dangerous they would have stopped

making it hundreds of years ago. The way he described it made as

yet but I saw a big selection at a sight called astroshastra.com. Do

you know if they are reputable? If not can you recomend someplace

else. I need all the positive influence on my Karma I can get. I

know that we say everything is one but I feal influenced by some

kind of evil force that wants me to slip up and become to absorbed

in the illusion to see the light.

Thanks , and may Ganesh rain his boons down upon you, James
